How it all came to be

Updated: Dec 28, 2019

I took one of the biggest risks of my life when I was only 18 years old, and I haven't looked back since. I started this blog because I have gained a lot of experience and information I think could prove helpful and valuable to other people so they can live their life as freely and as joyfully as they desire. Anywhere in the world.

I know I'm not the only one that feels overwhelmed by the impending pressure and skyrocketing student loans. So instead, I decided to take all the money I had along with my passport and travel for a year. Not only did this give me the most important connections in my life, but it changed what I would do min my life later on. I gained insurmountable confidence and a perhaps risky addiction to adrenaline. I am inexplicably happy that I allowed myself to manifest my desires and see the world, and I am even happier that I have not stopped!

I want to encourage other people to authorize themselves to live their dreams, because I genuinely believe every single human being deserves the fulfillment and ultimate joy their dreams would bring.

So in case you are wondering how to give yourself the kick in the ass you need to live the life you deserve, let me give you a gentle push first. There are SO many reasons to voyage, even more so than the expected adventure and the fun had along the way.

Traveling for yourself is investing in yourself.

Not only can it be intimidating to spend a lot of money on a bunch of trips, but you might be forced to experience "real talk" from other people that doubt your choice. The first thing I want you to toss out of your mind is any guilt you may feel from spending money on your travels. Do it right now. Because not only can you travel cheaper than you expected, but I guarantee the experiences you have, the things you learn, and the connections you make will pay you back, in both money and memories. Think of the money you are about to spend traveling as an investment. If you were willing to invest $40,000 per year on education because you knew it would better you and make you more attractive to employers, then you are not allowed to feel guilty about investing in your travels.

Be afraid, but do it anyway.

Not gonna lie, I was sh*t scared to travel alone, especially when all my friends would be going to college parties and hitting the books. And this fear did not completely disappear when I was in the new country. Fortunately, I had family and friends back home that I could rely on to encourage me from afar, and I could rest assured that I always had a safe place to return to if I ever needed to. And no matter what I was about to attempt, I would tell myself that I would just try. I allowed myself to be afraid, but I made myself try anyway. And this is where I experienced the most growth.

Your life is all about YOU.

I'll keep this short and sweet. You are worth it. You can trust yourself. You have the power to do whatever it is you desire.

If you were looking for a sign to take the leap and live your life according to your heart, then this is it. Right now.
